Acceptance and effectiveness

Acceptance makes you more effective. Effectiveness makes you more accepting. When you accept reality for what it is, then you’re better able to change that reality to suit your vision of what it should be.

Likewise, when you know you’re effective at changing things, you’re much more likely to realistically accept them for what they are. Acceptance and effectiveness build upon each other in an upward spiral.

Acceptance is not giving up or giving in. It is being real. Just because you accept something does not mean you necessarily agree with it. It means that you see it for what it is and understand the implications.

Whatever has happened, has happened. Wherever you are, you are. Whatever has been said or done is over with and there is nothing you can do to change the past. Accept what is, and then know that you can move forward in whatever direction you choose to go, realistically and with your eyes wide open.

Rather than wasting your time and energy fighting against what is, put your efforts into creating what can be.
