Look ahead

The future is yours to build. To make what you want of it, start right away. Rather than putting tasks off until later, bring them forward to now. Do something today that will make a positive difference a month from now, a year from now, or five years from now. The sooner you start, the more leverage you give yourself.

If you wait until the last minute, your options are few. Yet when you work with an eye toward the future, the possibilities are virtually unlimited. Instead of procrastinating and scrambling to catch up, direct your actions where they will make the most difference. Build today for the benefit of tomorrow and you’ll put yourself far ahead.

The further in advance you act, the more effective you will be. Much success is due not to any extraordinary skill, but to diligent planning and follow through. Those who take action now for the sake of the future put themselves at a distinct and nearly invincible advantage.

What can you do today that will make a better tomorrow? Put your effort into building your future, and that future will be good to you.
