Everyday accomplishment

Everyday life is anything but ordinary, because everyday life is where greatness is created. Every large and impressive accomplishment is made up of hundreds or even thousands of small, barely noticeable accomplishments. Every successful life is built by consistently assembling one successful, positively directed, focused moment after another.

Accomplishment is not a vague and distant concept. It is a clear and specific everyday affair. It is created in the small moments, which one by one add up to big results.

The biggest successes are nothing more than small successes which have been sustained over a long enough period. The humble cottage and the magnificent cathedral were both built one brick at a time. The difference in the two is not in the nature of the effort itself, but in the persistence of that effort.

When you’re able to accomplish just a little, you have what it takes to accomplish a whole lot. Anything is within your reach when you’re determined to keep moving steadily toward it.
