I'm not interested in age. People who tell me their age are silly. You're as old as you feel.

Go ahead anyway

If you let disappointment stop you, you’ll make its pain a permanent, negative part of your life. When you choose instead to persist, and to move ahead, with each new step the disappointment becomes smaller, and the pain quickly fades away.

Yes, you could put disappointment behind you by letting it turn you back, by allowing it to stop you in your tracks. But if you do, that disappointment will always be there to exert its pain and regret. Instead, put the disappointment behind you my moving on through it and then beyond it. And with your persistence you will get completely past the pain of that disappointment.

Persistence requires no special skill, just the willingness and commitment to always take the next step. Though the disappointments will certainly come, persistence is the surest and quickest way to get past them.

Look behind every achievement and you will always find persistence. When you’re so disappointed you feel you can’t go on, that is indeed when you’ll gain the very most by pushing ahead anyway.

If the pain of disappointment has come, then you’ve already paid the price. That’s the time to move on ahead with persistence, to where you can surely reap the reward.
