Beyond opinion

Seek to understand those with whom you disagree, and it will take you far. Seriously investigate and consider viewpoints that differ with your own.

Look for a reason behind the unreasonable. Look for a purpose behind the ridiculous.

You do not have to agree in order to understand. You do not have to give in to another viewpoint in order to gain something of positive value from it.

The world is rich with diverse perspectives. By opening your experience to that richness, you strengthen your own perspective.

If you’re afraid to question your beliefs or challenge your opinions, then what value do they really have? By looking beyond your opinions, you make those opinions more compelling. You will cease to merely believe, and begin to truly know.
