Choose your life

What is the difference between a life of joy and accomplishment, and a life of despair? What is the difference between a day spent effectively, and a day of idleness? What is the difference between positive direction and certainty, and just drifting along?

The difference comes from making choices. Look around you. The things that make up your world are the result of choices. The house where you live, your job, the size of your bank account, your family, the car you drive, the books on your shelf. All choices.

You can choose the life you want. Not in one single momentous choice, but in the little choices you make every day. Each day you choose when to wake up, what to eat, how much work you do, how much money you spend or save, how you talk to your children, how willing you are to learn. These are the choices that determine your life, and you make them every day.

Everything you do is a choice -- an opportunity, that you cannot escape, to build your life. What that life becomes is entirely up to you.
