Hard times

Strength comes not from the ease and pleasure of life, but rather from the troubles and challenges. Body builders know that they must strain their muscles in order to make them grow. And in the same way, the muscle of your character is strengthened by the difficulties you endure.

If there was no pain, we could not recognize pleasure, much less enjoy it. The hard times give life just as much meaning as the good times. Each obstacle you overcome, makes you stronger. Each challenge you endure, makes the good times that much more joyful.

Challenge gives us something to do, a way to grow. Imagine how dreary life would be if everything always went the way you wanted. Appreciate the hard times, for they are full of opportunity. Rise to the bitter challenges, and life will be sweet indeed.
