Make it better
It’s easy to get angry, or frustrated, or discouraged. Anyone can do it. It doesn’t take any skill at all.
The skill comes when you’re able to take positive action in spite of your negative emotions. Just because you’re feeling angry, does not mean that you must make the situation worse. Lashing out in anger will hurt you as much as anyone. Is that really what you want? Just because you’re frustrated, is no reason to create even more frustration.
Accomplishment comes from making positive efforts, even in the face of negative circumstances. Stop and ask yourself, “What can I do right now, in light of this situation, that would make the biggest positive difference?"
Of course you are going to feel angry, frustrated, bitter and discouraged at times. That’s completely understandable, but it’s no reason to act against your own best interests. There is always a way to improve the situation. Find it and do it.
