Dream stealers

There’s no shortage of people and companies offering the enticing prize of something for nothing, especially now at beginning of a new year. Forget for a moment that it is impossible to get something for nothing, and consider this. Would you truly want to live in a world where you could get something for nothing? Would a life without challenge and its partner accomplishment, be worth living? Would a million dollars be worth having if you could get it without any significant effort? What would it buy you if no one else had to work for money, either?

It’s sad that so much time and effort are wasted in the pursuit of something for nothing. Yet what is sadder still, is the disillusion which ultimately results. Those who go after something for nothing will surely fail to find it, and too often they conclude that their dreams are out of reach.

That’s not true. Anything is within the reach of anyone who is willing to put forth the real effort, and create the real value, to accomplish it. Don’t let your dreams be stolen by someone offering something for nothing. Look instead for ways in which you can make the biggest difference, for that’s the surest way to fill your life with substance and value.
