The success response
Banks are more likely to lend money to people who have proven in the past that they can make money. Employers are more likely to hire employees who have proven in the past that they can get things done.
People who have been successful in the past, are likely to be successful in the future. Why? Is it just that they’re luckier? Do they have some kind of inside secret? Do they somehow manage to avoid the challenges and attract the best opportunities? No.
Successful people live in the same world as everyone else, with the same challenges, the same knowledge, the same amount of luck. The difference between success and mediocrity is not in what we’re confronted with, but in how we respond to it.
The successful response is to find the positive aspect of any situation, and then to apply that positive force toward accomplishing the goal at hand. No matter what the circumstance, some degree of success is attainable. Seeing it and consistently reaching for it is what sets the winners in life apart from the rest. Anyone can do it. It’s all in how you respond.
