The details
Little things can have a big impact. Whether that impact is positive or negative is up to you.
Learn to be master of the little things without letting the little things run your life. It is useful to pay attention to details but it is dangerous be ruled by them.
There is a big difference between being disciplined, careful and attentive and being obsessive. The difference is in clearly focusing on the purpose of your efforts. Look at everything in terms of the big picture. To the extent that the details enhance and promote your overall purpose, give them your time and energy. To the extent that the details detract from, and even replace the original purpose, let them go.
Nothing is more wasteful than worrying and fretting over trivial details that don’t even matter. And few things are more empowering than having all the details working in your favor. Keep your purpose clearly in mind, and make the details your servant rather than your master.
