Time to appreciate

How many times each day do you take for granted those you love? How often do you fail to truly appreciate your home, your health, your friends, the air you breathe, the magnificent beauty of the world around you?

It’s all too easy to forget how very many blessings we have. Often we are so heavily focused on getting more, that we look right past the many good things we already have.

But of what use is having something if you don’t appreciate and find joy in it? The good things with which we are so blessed are not merely stepping stones on the road to more.

Take time today to appreciate and enjoy the good things in your life. Sit for a few moments and watch your child sleep, considering how very precious and special that young life is. Though your job may often be tedious or difficult, appreciate the new opportunities it brings you each day. Value your blessings by considering how you can give more value to them.

You are blessed. If nothing else, life itself is a huge blessing. Take the time to be thankful, and reap the value.
