All the answers

Being smart doesn’t mean having all the answers. One of the most intelligent things you can say is “I don’t know.” It takes confidence and intelligence to admit your ignorance. And when you do, you’re well on your way to learning the right answer.

Too often, out of pride or insecurity we pretend to know when we don’t, and stay silent when we could be learning more. There is no shame in not knowing. Ignorance represents a powerful opportunity -- the opportunity to learn something new.

A key component of wisdom is knowing the limits of your knowledge. Know what you know, and also know what you do not know. The really smart people are the ones who know and understand that they don’t have all the answers. The really smart people are those who are willing to ask, to learn, to grow.

Use the knowledge you have and own up to the knowledge you lack. It’s one of the smartest strategies you can follow.
