Better things to do
You cannot raise yourself up by putting others down. There is no real joy to be found in the misfortune of others. You have so many better things to do.
Those who resort to envy, gossip, spite and revenge primarily hurt themselves, though many others can, and often do, get hurt as well. Nothing of value is accomplished and the time spent on such negative pursuits can never be reclaimed, the damage never fully repaired. What a pitiful, tragic waste.
When you feel the urge to pull someone down, stop and ask yourself what it will gain you. Then turn that urge around. Redirect your energy. Find someone whom you can lift up. The value to yourself and your world will be infinitely greater. At every opportunity, put your precious time and effort where they will make a positive difference. You’ll add true and lasting richness to your life.
